Web design can sometimes be as boring as a movie that plays on a loop. Logo in the top left corner, navigation in the top right corner, same section with a big title in the center of the page, followed by a subtitle and a few buttons. We see it again and again.
But what’s worse than the monotony of websites? It’s futility!
There are still many sites that are hard to navigate and don’t answer the visitor’s most important questions. What am I looking for on this site? What does it do for me? Where is the information I am looking for? Legendary designer Paul Rand said: “Stop bothering to be original, because being good is hard enough.“
There is room for experimental, deosibite, even artwork designs, but remember that the websites you make should be designed for your clients’ clients. Don’t deviate from functionality just because you, the great designer, are bored or because you want to be original. If you do your work properly, there will always be plenty of room for interest and style.
Web design: A world of possibilities
Web design is much more than just arranging elements on a page. It’s an art form and communication that can create emotion and captivate audiences. When someone visits a website, it should provide clear answers to their questions and offer them a pleasant and useful experience. However, for a web design to be successful it doesn’t have to be boring or pointless. It can be a powerful tool to convey a company’s message and encourage action from visitors.
Intuitive navigation: the guide to success
A crucial aspect of effective web design is intuitive navigation. Visitors shouldn’t feel lost or confused when navigating your website. The navigation menu should be clear and easy to find, giving users a clear map of the site. Each page should be accessible in a few clicks, and internal links should be logical and well-organised. Without intuitive navigation, visitors may become frustrated and leave the site in search of other sources of information or products.
Interactive experience: Engage and retain
Successful web design doesn’t just stop at static information. Provide an interactive experience that engages visitors and keeps them coming back. Integrating interactive elements, such as a contact form, comments or feedback sections, gives users the opportunity to interact with the site and express their opinion. It also adds social media elements to allow users to share their experience and become ambassadors for your brand.
Creativity and utility meet
Web design doesn’t have to be boring or useless. By combining creativity with utility, you can create engaging and effective websites. Pay attention to detail and make sure that you respond to visitors’ needs and questions.
Good design takes time. A lot of time, in fact, and this ultimately translates into the price of the site. To understand this, I recommend reading the following articles:
